There are lots of great places in London, with so much to offer from different locations im sure those moving here would find it difficult to choose. However for us and indeed for Hucklebones its Elephant and Castle that we call home. It was almost by accident we moved here 5 years ago when our initial choice of flat in Clapham fell through. From then on we have not looked back, fantastic 24 hour transport links and the 113 acre Burges Park on our doorstep. Looking through Elephant’s past i’ve found that it was here that London’s first zoo appeared in 1834 featuring the UK’s first ever giraffe! Things have moved on a lot since then, and the face of Elephant is changing rapidly with new development.

Elephant and Castle does harbor a special place in our hearts, as our first home together and birth place of Hucklebones. This Christmas we received a wonderful gift, taken from the destination blinds from an old routemaster bus, framed and in its glory it hangs as a daily reminder of where we began.

Yes it is definitely in the air! Today I awoke to bright sunshine and yes, no rain! Spring is officially around the corner! It’s amazing how a few rays of sunshine can brighten ones day, but I noticed I had a small skip in my step! Also you may have already noticed that the Spring / Summer collection has arrived in our online shop, favorites so far are the vanilla silk sleeveless top (pictured top above) and the deco bow top in Lanterns print silk (above).

Its such an exciting time for Hucklebones with the new S/S 10 collection on its way. We have had some fantastic preview press which we are really thrilled about. Its that time of year again when we are off to exhibit the new collection at Bubble London and this time around at Pitti Bimbo. We will be showing the new season of Autumn/Winter 2010 to some of the best wholesale buyers in the the children’s clothing market. All the hard work put in from September will hopefully pay off. As always we have some great new designs and prints. We are very excited about it and would love to share it with you however as its still top secret until it arrives in the shops in August, I have attached some images from the A/W 09 stand at Bubble London. I hope you like them.

Here’s hoping you have had a very merry Christmas with plenty of rest, relaxation and time spent with loved ones. Thank you to those of you who have supported Hucklebones over the last year, it has been fabulous and your enthusiasm for the brand has been wonderful. We are very exited about the coming year starting with the fantastic spring summer collection which will arrive in stores in early Feburary. However for now we are going to make the most of the Christmas gatherings and enjoying a well earned rest.

We managed to pick up a copy of Junior magazine yesterday and were thrilled to see that our ‘Daisy Collar Blouse’ in Orange Sherbet had made it into the fashion pages. With thanks to Kate Van Der Hage who styled the shoot beautifully with fun props and bright jewel tones. Photographed by Sheila Rock in Andrew Logan’s art studio, plaids, glass-look laminates and lurex knits are pulled together into an eclectic, fun and downright funky style. Our blouse was outfitted with a shiny PVC raincoat by Burberry, gold cardigan from Simple Kids and quilted skirt from Simonetta. The look was completed with a bright yellow and black brooch by Andrew Logan.

We were really excited to see the Hucklebones frill placket dress featured in Clara’s style report for LFG last week! Along side fantastic labels such as ‘Little Marc Jacobs‘, ‘Maan‘, ‘Le Tour de Force‘ and ‘Petite Maloles‘ Clara combined great style ideas with the fantastic 1st outfit from ‘Luella’s’ show at London Fashion Week, which we had been swooning over ever since we saw the images from the show.
